Did you know that IKEA has a model for an integrated dishwasher? The RENLIG integrated dishwasher ($699.00) is a great option to reduce visual clutter and give your kitchen a truly customized look. It creates an illusion of a streamlined row of cabinets that looks great in smaller kitchens.
It’s also affordable. We compared it to other panel-ready, fully integrated dishwashers, too.
- KitchenAid panel-ready KUDE40FXPA dishwasher: $944.10
- GE Monogram fully integrated dishwasher: $1,649.00
- Bosch SHV43R53UC Fully Integrated Dishwasher, $887.00
This dishwasher should be used with a door in the same design as the rest of the kitchen. It’s a one-of-a-kind among IKEA appliances.
How would you know which door to use? You can use any door as long as it’s 24″ wide and 30″ tall (They start at $17.00 for a Harlig door. Don’t forget to include a handle and cover the lower side with a plinth just as if it were another cabinet.
We recommend making sure that there’s enough space for the door to swing open, though. 1″ of space between the plinth and the actual door panel should be enough. Another tip: make sure that the protective metal plate doesn’t interfere with the door opening. This can be achieved by loosening the 2 pieces of the plate, allowing the pieces to slide down about 1/2″ and then tightening them back with a screwdriver after installing your door.
The estimated annual operating cost for this dishwasher is $31 for electricity and $23 for natural gas. It’s also a ‘green’ option that’s manufactured by Whirlpool exclusively for IKEA.
